Laura Cooley is a college university instructor and special education teacher turned actress! Although her passion for acting and film was debilitating in her early years, Laura opted to make life choices that would lead her to a stable career. Well, 3 degrees and a vested teaching career later, Laura can safely say she has already lived her first life and is now ready for her second with no regrets! After performing, managing, and directing more than 20 theatre productions and films within the span of 3 years in Mississippi, while also running a successful film and editing company, Laura made the permanent move to NYC in 2019. Out of all the projects she has worked on so far, Laura says #ModelsWanted hits closest to home and has reminded her the Bible states “To whom much is given, much is required.” This isn’t just a film; it’s a call to action. Through her film platform and work with Young Life Manhattan, Laura hopes to continue finding new ways to offer support and stand in the fight against racism and human trafficking. Laura states that she cannot think of a better way to raise awareness than through visualization as #ModelsWanted so tastefully, yet truthfully reveals.
